# File is in a transfer

The API answered with HTTP 409 and the error code `file_in_transfer`.

A transfer uses this file. Confirm the transfer update in the app, or switch on automatic transfer updates in the workspace's file settings.

Every error is an [RFC 9457](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9457) problem document (`application/problem+json`). Match on `code`, never on the message text. See [errors](/docs/api/errors) for the full list.
