# File requests

A file request lets people send you files without a Tarkle account. Submissions land in the request's folder in your library.

**Not in the API yet.** The feature exists in Tarkle. Its API is planned and this page shows where it will live.

## API coverage

| What | Status | Where |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Create a file request | Planned | [Not in the API yet](/docs/api/planned) |
| List requests and read submissions | Planned | [Not in the API yet](/docs/api/planned) |
| Close or reopen a request | Planned | [Not in the API yet](/docs/api/planned) |

Submissions are in the **File requests** folder of the library. You can read that folder with the [Files](/docs/api/files) API, but it is protected: the API cannot change or delete what is inside it.

## Access

No API scope exists yet. Every call will also name a workspace (see [Authentication](/docs/get-started/authentication)).
