# How do I assign storage to a client workspace?

Give a client workspace its own storage amount from the Dashboard, so it cannot use your whole shared pool.

The workspaces of an organization on the [Agency plan](/pricing) share 6 TB of storage. Assigning storage gives one workspace its own amount. That amount is the most the workspace can store, and it is held back for that workspace so other workspaces cannot use it. For the other limits of the plan, see [Agency plan limits](/help/agency-plan/agency-plan-limits).

## Assign storage to a workspace

1. Open the [Dashboard](/dashboard), which lists your workspaces.
2. Choose the three-dot button at the end of the workspace's row.
3. Choose **Assign limit**.
4. In **Select workspace**, check that the workspace is the one you want. You can choose another workspace from this list.
5. In **Assign storage**, type an amount and choose **GB** or **TB**. Leave the field empty for no limit.
6. Read the line under the field. It shows how much storage is still available, **Unlimited storage** or **No storage available**.
7. Choose **Save**. Tarkle shows the message "Limit saved", closes the dialog and updates the Storage column.

The Assign limit item appears only on workspaces you own, and only when your organization has storage or brand pages to hand out. Saving an amount sets both the limit and the reservation. Clearing the field and saving takes both back, so the workspace uses whatever the organization still has free. One TB is 1,000 GB.

## What the amount must allow

Save stays off while the amount is lower than what the workspace already stores or higher than what the organization has left. Tarkle shows the reason under the field:

- "This workspace already stores more than that." The amount cannot be lower than the storage the workspace already uses.
- "That is more than your organization has left." The amount cannot be higher than the line under the field shows as available.

A reservation also needs space that the other workspaces do not hold. When you save, Tarkle can stop with "Not enough unreserved storage left in your account." or "Your other workspaces already use too much to reserve that amount."

## Who can assign storage

Only the owner of a workspace can assign its storage. Teammates do not get the Assign limit item for that workspace, and Tarkle refuses the save if the signed-in person is not the owner. A workspace that a partner platform manages cannot be changed here, and Tarkle says the storage is managed by your platform.

## The Storage column

The **Storage** column on the Dashboard shows what each workspace uses. A workspace with an amount also shows that amount. A workspace with no amount shows only what it uses, because it draws on whatever the organization has left.

## What happens next

The **Storage** card above the list of workspaces on the [Dashboard](/dashboard) shows the storage your workspaces have used, out of the total for your organization.
