# Which emails does Feedback send, and how do I stop them?

Which emails a feedback board sends, who gets each one, and how to stop them.

A feedback board sends emails to the people who take part in it when something happens on it: a new comment, a status change, a review or a deadline. New comment, reply, digest, status change, tag and deadline reminder emails carry a **Stop these emails** link at the bottom. Assignment and review emails have no such link.

## What is sent

| Email | Who gets it | When |
| --- | --- | --- |
| New comment or reply | The workspace owner and everyone who has commented on the board. The author and anyone tagged in the same comment are left out. | Right away. A person gets at most one of these emails per board every 5 minutes. Comments held back in that window go into the digest. |
| Digest | The same people | Once the board has been quiet for 5 minutes, or 30 minutes after the oldest held-back comment, whichever comes first. It lists up to 3 comments. |
| You were tagged | The person tagged in a comment | Right away. |
| Assigned to you | The team member the comment is assigned to | Right away, unless you assigned the comment to yourself or the same person is set again. |
| Status changed | The person who wrote the comment, when an email address is on file | When the status really changes. |
| Review submitted | The workspace owner | Right away. |
| Deadline reminder | The workspace owner and everyone who has commented, except reviewers who already gave a verdict | 24 hours and 1 hour before the deadline. |
| Deadline closed | The workspace owner and team members who have commented | When the deadline passes. |

Team-only replies go to team members only. Deadlines and reminders are explained in [How do deadlines, reminders and closing feedback work?](/help/feedback/feedback-deadlines-and-closing), and assignments in [How do I manage comments: statuses, assignees and filters?](/help/feedback/feedback-statuses-assignees-filters).

## Stop emails from the link in an email

Open the email and click **Stop these emails** at the bottom. The page asks **Stop feedback emails?** and offers two buttons:

- **Stop emails for this board** stops the emails about this board only.
- **Stop all feedback emails from** the workspace name stops the emails for every board of that workspace.

Once emails are stopped, the same link shows **Emails are stopped** with a **Turn emails back on** button. That button lifts both kinds of stop.

## Turn off notifications for one board

Team members can switch off the emails for a single board in [Feedback](/dashboard/feedback). Open the board's **Board actions** menu (the three-dot button) and click **Disable notifications**. The item reads **Enable notifications** when you want them back. The screen then confirms that tags and assignments still reach you: "Emails off for this board. You are still told when you are tagged or assigned."

## Limits

Assignment and review emails have no **Stop these emails** link, and a stop on a board or a workspace does not block them. A team member is still emailed when tagged, even after turning notifications off.
