# Feedback plans and limits

Free allows 5 active feedback boards in each workspace, and Pro and Agency have no board limit.

Feedback boards collect comments and approvals on PDFs and images. This page lists how many active boards each plan allows and the limits that apply to boards, comments and reviewers. ## Active boards by plan

A board stays active until you archive it. On Free, each workspace can have 5 active boards. Pro and Agency have no limit on active boards. For the plans themselves, see [plans and prices](/pricing).

## Archived boards

Archived boards do not count toward the limit. To make room, open the [Feedback](/dashboard/feedback) page, open **More actions** on the board and click **Archive board**.

Restoring an archived board counts it as active again, so the limit applies when you restore it. Restore a board from the archived boards on the Feedback page. Any team member can archive or restore a board.

## Reviewers and passwords

Reviewers do not need an account to [leave feedback](https://tarkle.com/help/feedback/feedback-leave-feedback) or to approve a board. A board can require a password or an email address before a reviewer can open it. The [share a board](https://tarkle.com/help/feedback/feedback-share-a-board) article explains how to set one.

## Other limits

- A board holds PDF files or image files, not both. The dialog that adds files accepts only the type you chose.
- A comment can be up to 4,000 characters.
- A comment can include one attachment: an image up to 10 MB (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF), an SVG up to 2 MB, or a PDF up to 25 MB.
- A comment can tag up to 10 people. Only people already on the board can be tagged: teammates and reviewers who have commented before. Tags past the tenth are ignored. A reply that only the team can see cannot tag a reviewer.
- The note on an Approve or Request changes review is cut to 4,000 characters.
- On Pro and Agency, the **More actions** menu of a board has **Customize URL**, which sets a custom address for that board. Free does not show it.

## Who can do what

- **Create a board:** team members with the permission to create and share files.
- **Archive a board or restore it:** any team member.
- **Delete board:** the owner or an admin. Only they see **Delete board** in the board's menu.

## If you reach the limit

On Free, when a workspace already has 5 active boards, Tarkle refuses to create another board or to restore an archived one. The message tells you to archive one board or upgrade to Pro to create more. To archive a finished board, follow the steps under Archived boards.
