# What is Feedback in Tarkle?

Send a PDF or images as one link and collect pinned comments and an approve or request-changes answer.

Feedback lets you send a PDF or a set of images to a client as one link. The reviewer pins comments to the exact spot they mean, replies to each other, and finishes with an approve or request-changes answer. Reviewers do not need an account.

## What you can review

- **PDF:** one document, with comments pinned per page.
- **Images:** PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, BMP, SVG, HEIC and HEIF.

A board holds one kind of file. Once a board has files, Tarkle refuses a file of the other kind when you add one. Websites, video and audio are not supported.

## How it works

1. Open [Feedback](/dashboard/feedback), click **Create board** and add your files. [How do I create a feedback board?](/help/feedback/feedback-create-a-board) covers each step. Then copy the board's link to share it.
2. The reviewer opens the link. If the board has a password, the reviewer enters it first. The board asks for a name and an email, and both are required. It keeps them in that browser, so the reviewer is not asked again there. [How do reviewers leave feedback?](/help/feedback/feedback-leave-feedback) shows the screens.
3. The reviewer clicks the file to pin a comment and writes it. A comment can carry one attachment, an image or a PDF.
4. Your team sees every comment in the sidebar. A team member can set a status, assign the comment to a teammate and reply. A reply can be marked team-only, and reviewers never see it.
5. The reviewer finishes by choosing **Approve this work** or **Request changes**, adding an optional comment and clicking **Submit review**. A reviewer can finish again: the latest answer replaces the one before, and the Activity list shows the board's history. [How do reviewers approve or request changes?](/help/feedback/feedback-approve-or-request-changes) explains this step.

## Who can do what

- **Any team member** can archive and restore a board, set a comment's status, resolve it and assign it.
- **The workspace owner and team members with permission to edit files** can change the board's settings and add a new version of a file.
- **Only the owner and admins** can delete a board. Other team members can archive it instead.
- **Reviewers** need no account. They comment, reply and finish a review. A team member cannot submit a review of their own board.

## Controls on a board

The board's menu holds these settings. [Which emails does Feedback send, and how do I stop them?](/help/feedback/feedback-emails) covers the notification emails.

- **Password:** the board opens only after the reviewer enters the password. Team members are not asked for it.
- **Deadline:** when the deadline passes, nobody can comment or review, and the board stays viewable. [How do deadlines, reminders and closing feedback work?](/help/feedback/feedback-deadlines-and-closing) explains the reminders.
- **Disable comments:** stops new comments, replies and reviews until comments are turned back on.
- **Allow downloads:** lets viewers download the board's files. [How do I let viewers download a board?](/help/feedback/feedback-allow-downloads) explains it.

## Limits

On the Free plan, you can have 5 active boards. Pro and Agency have no limit. Archived boards do not count, and restoring a board counts against the limit. [Feedback plans and limits](/help/feedback/feedback-plans-and-limits) lists the rest. Compare the plans on [Tarkle plans](/pricing).
