# What people see when you paste a Tarkle link in a chat

What the link preview card shows for transfers, requests, brand pages and boards, and when it says Shared with you.

When you paste a Tarkle link into a chat app or a social network, the app draws a small preview card with an image. Tarkle generates that card for you, so you do not need to upload anything for most links. This article explains what the card shows for each kind of link.

## What the card shows

A generated card has your workspace logo and name at the top, then a title and a few lines of detail. An event cover banner or a brand image you upload replaces the generated card.

- **File transfer, video, audio and feedback board:** the title and description of the [file transfer](https://tarkle.com/help/file-sharing/how-to-create-a-file-transfer) or board. A transfer with no title shows "Transfer #" followed by its link code in capitals. A feedback board also carries the label "Feedback". The card does not show file names or sizes.
- **File request:** the request title and description, with the label "File request".
- **Event:** if the event has a cover banner, that banner is the preview. If it has none, the card shows the event title, the date, the time with the event's time zone, and the place (or "Online"). Draft and cancelled events have no card, so a link to one shows no preview image.
- **Brand page:** if the brand has an Open Graph image or a banner, that image is the preview. If it has neither, the card shows the brand name and description with the label "Brand assets". This applies to a [brand page](https://tarkle.com/help/branding/what-is-a-brand-page) whose Access is set to Public.
- **Workspace profile page:** your logo, workspace name and workspace description.
- **Sign-in page:** the title "Sign in", next to your logo and workspace name, with your workspace description below.

On a video link that is open to everyone, a cover image stored on the video transfer replaces the generated card.

## When the card is generic

Tarkle hides the details when the link itself is not open to everyone.

- **File transfer, video, audio or feedback board** that has a password, asks for an email address, is limited to chosen people or organizations, or has an expiry date that has passed. The card shows your logo and workspace name with the title "Shared with you", and no description or cover image.
- **Brand page** that is [password protected or restricted](https://tarkle.com/help/branding/who-can-open-a-brand-page). The link carries the title "Brand page · " followed by your workspace name, and the line "Open the link to view this brand page." The card shows your logo and workspace name only. The brand's own name, text, banner and image are not shown.

A draft brand page sends no brand title and no image to a link preview. A transfer that has been turned off has no card at all.

## Add your own image

For an event, open the event's edit page and find the **Cover banner** card. Add your banner there, and it becomes the event's preview.

For a brand page, open [Brands](/dashboard/brands), choose the brand, and open its **SEO** tab. Under **Search and sharing**, upload the **Open Graph image**. The field shows 1200x630px as its size. Until you upload one, the field uses your banner, and a brand page with neither image gets the generated card described above.

## The "Powered by" line

The card can carry a small "Powered by" line at the bottom right. It names the brand behind your workspace: Tarkle, or your reseller or Agency name. On a Tarkle address, such as tarkle.com or tarkle.page, the line always shows.

On the Free plan the line always shows. On Pro you can turn it off with the switch in the **Backlink** card, which you find in **Settings**. On a plan that cannot remove the line, the switch stays on and cannot be changed. On an Agency white-label workspace, the line names your agency instead of Tarkle.
