# Slack integration

Connect Slack to a Tarkle workspace and choose the channel that receives its file alerts.

Slack connects one Slack channel to a Tarkle workspace. After you connect, Tarkle posts alerts to that channel when people act on your files, such as viewing or downloading a transfer. For the other tools you can connect, see [Integrations: connect tools to Tarkle](/help/integrations/integrations-connect-tools-to-tarkle).

## Connect Slack

Each Tarkle workspace has its own Slack connection and channel, so repeat these steps in every workspace you want to connect.

1. Open [Integrations](/dashboard/settings/integrations) under Settings in the workspace.
2. Click the Slack card.
3. Connect Slack from the Slack window. Tarkle sends you to Slack's authorization page.
4. Approve access on Slack's page.
5. Tarkle returns you to Settings, then Integrations, and the Slack window opens by itself with the channel list.
6. Choose a channel in the list and save it.

If a channel is missing from the list, close the window and open the Slack card again.

## If the connection does not finish

If Slack does not complete the connection, Tarkle sends you back to the app home page without a message. Open Settings, then Integrations, and start again from the Slack card.

## Which notifications are sent

The Slack window lists the notifications Tarkle can send to the channel, including **Brand page viewed** and **Brand page downloaded**. To see the numbers behind brand page alerts, read [How do I see views, downloads and requests for my brand pages?](/help/branding/views-downloads-and-requests). To see what the alerts report, read [Slack notifications](/features/view-download-tracking).

## Disconnect Slack

Open the Slack card and click **Disconnect**. Click Disconnect in the Slack window to remove the connection, then choose a channel again if you connect later.

## What happens next

After you save a channel, the alerts go to that channel. To check what each alert reports, read [Transfer status](/features/transfer-status).
