# Store and share audio files in Tarkle

Upload audio to your library, then share it in an audio transfer with a waveform player and free or paid downloads.

Tarkle keeps your audio files in your library. An audio transfer shares them on a player with a waveform for each track, where listeners can play the tracks, download them for free, or pay before they download. This page covers the library, the player and the download settings, and links to the step-by-step articles.

## Upload audio to your library

Open the [Audio page](/dashboard/audio) in your workspace. Click **Upload**, then **Upload files**, and choose your files. The file picker accepts MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC and M4A files.

Audio files use the storage of your organization's plan. Free allows 5 GB of storage and files up to 1 GB each. Pro allows 3 TB of storage and files up to 200 GB each. [Pricing](/pricing) lists every plan.

## Albums and playlists

The Audio page has three tabs: **Tracks**, **Albums** and **Playlists**. Star a track from its row to mark it. On **Albums** or **Playlists**, click **Create album** or **Create playlist**, then add tracks to it. Deleting an album or a playlist leaves its audio files in your library.

## Share audio in an audio transfer

Open the [transfers page](/dashboard/transfers) and create an audio transfer in the transfer dialog. [How to create an audio transfer](/help/video-transfer/how-to-create-an-audio-transfer) walks through each step. Each transfer has its own link and its own settings.

Listeners see each audio track as a separate row in the player, with its waveform. They can pick any track, and when a track ends the next one starts. After the last track the list starts again from the first. The player is drawn in your workspace's accent color.

When you create the transfer, choose what listeners can do. Tick **Allow download** to let anyone who opens the page download the tracks for free. Tick **Charge for download** to have listeners pay first. If you tick neither, listeners can play the tracks but cannot download them.

## Free downloads

With **Allow download** ticked, listeners download the tracks without paying. **Download all** saves all the tracks as one ZIP file.

## Paid downloads

Charging for downloads needs three things:

- A Pro plan. Paid transfers are a Pro feature. [Pricing](/pricing) lists the plans.
- Stripe connected to your workspace under **Settings**, then **Integrations** on [Integrations](/dashboard/settings/integrations). [Share files and get paid with Stripe](/help/integrations/share-files-and-get-paid-with-stripe) explains the connection.
- **Enable paid transfers** turned on under **Settings**, then **General**, then **File settings**. The switch is off by default.

When you tick **Charge for download**, set the price, the currency and the preview length in seconds. The dialog starts the preview at 30 seconds, and the preview length applies to every track in the transfer. Listeners hear each track up to that length, then the payment prompt opens. After a payment, they can download the tracks. You can also set a sales limit. When the limit is reached, downloads stop.

Payments go to the Stripe account you connected. A paid transfer cannot use a password, an expiry date, an email check, view only or burn after read. Tarkle refuses to create a paid transfer with one of these set. [Why can't I turn on paid transfers?](/help/troubleshooting/why-cant-i-turn-on-paid-transfers) explains each message you may see when you try to charge.

## What happens next

Once the transfer is shared, [What is an audio transfer page?](/help/video-transfer/what-is-an-audio-transfer-page) describes what listeners see when they open the link.
