An audio transfer creates a branded listening page where recipients can stream your audio in the browser. It supports multiple tracks, waveform visualization, and optional paid downloads via Stripe. You create one from the New Transfer modal by selecting Audio transfer.

Step 1: Add your audio files

You have two ways to add audio:

Upload files. Drop audio files from your computer or click browse. Only audio files are accepted. You can upload multiple files — each becomes a separate track in the player. Files upload with individual progress bars and are processed in parallel.

Use existing files. Switch to the Existing tab and search for audio files already uploaded to your workspace. Only audio files are shown in this view. You can select multiple tracks.

Folders and External links are not available for audio transfers — only Files and Existing tabs are shown.

What happens during upload: For each audio file, Tarkle Send extracts the duration and generates waveform peak data. This metadata is attached to the transfer and used to power the audio player on the recipient's page.

Step 2: Title, summary, and options

Fill in a title (required), optional summary up to 150 characters, and an optional CTA button. Cover image selection works the same as for file and video transfers. The AI sparkle button generates a title and summary from your audio file names.

Step 3: Access and download settings

Audio transfers have three download access options:

  1. Listen only (default). Recipients can stream the audio in the browser but cannot download the files. No checkbox is checked.

  2. Allow download (free). Check the Allow download checkbox. Anyone who opens the transfer page can download all tracks for free.

  3. Charge for download (via Stripe). Check the Charge for download checkbox. Recipients can preview the audio for free up to a preview length you set (in seconds, between 5 and 300), then must pay to download all tracks. When you select this option, you fill in:

    1. Price — a number value

    2. Currency — USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, or AUD

    3. Free preview (seconds) — how many seconds each track plays before cutting off for non-paying listeners

    4. Limit downloads (optional) — a maximum number of sales. Leave blank for unlimited.

When charging for downloads, Tarkle Send creates a Stripe product and price on your connected Stripe account automatically at the time the transfer is created.

Access control options (Gated, Password, Burn after read, View only) work the same as file transfers with one restriction: when Charge for download is enabled, Gated, Password, Burn after read, and View only are all disabled because the payment itself acts as the gate. All audio transfers support both Link mode and Email mode.

The Audio transfer page

After creation, the transfer lives at /a/[slug]. The page shows each audio track in the player with a waveform visualization, the track name, and playback controls. If a free preview is set, playback cuts off at the preview length and prompts the listener to purchase. If allow download is enabled, a download button is shown for each track or for all tracks together.
