What is a Video transfer page?

A video transfer page at /v/[slug] gives recipients a branded video player. Learn what the page shows, how playback works, download options, and how access control is applied.

A video transfer page is the public-facing page your recipient sees when they open a /v/[slug] link. It is a standalone branded video player page, separate from a standard file download page.

What the page shows

The page displays:

  • A full-width or centered video player that streams the video directly in the browser

  • The transfer title

  • The summary, if one was added

  • A custom CTA button, if one was configured (with your label and the link you set)

  • A cover image as a background or preview frame, if one was selected

The page uses your workspace branding — your accent color, logo, and workspace name are applied automatically.

Video playback

For videos uploaded to your workspace, the video streams adaptively in the browser. The player supports play, pause, volume control, and fullscreen. No download is needed to watch the video. If autoplay was enabled at creation, the video starts playing when the page loads.

For videos added via a URL (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, Bunny, Gumlet), the video is embedded from the original platform. Tarkle Send wraps the embed in your branded page layout so the experience is consistent regardless of provider.

Download behavior

Download behavior depends on what was set when the transfer was created:

  • No download option set: there is no download button. The video is watch-only.

  • Allow download (free): a download button is shown. Clicking it downloads the video file.

  • Allow direct download: clicking the link itself starts the download immediately, skipping the page.

  • Charge for download: a purchase button is shown. After payment via Stripe, the download is unlocked.

Access control

If the transfer was created with a password, the page shows a password field before the video is revealed. If the transfer was created as Gated, the recipient must submit their name and email before the video plays.

Tracking

Every view of the video page is tracked. You can see view counts, download activity, and recipient information (for gated or email-based transfers) in the transfer detail view inside your workspace.
