A video transfer gives your recipient a standalone branded video player page instead of a file download page. You create one from the same New Transfer modal by selecting Video transfer on the first step.

Step 1: Add your video

You have three ways to add a video:

Upload a file. Drop a video file or click browse. Only video files are accepted. The upload begins immediately on file selection and goes directly to your workspace. The maximum file size is 15 GB. Only one video file is allowed per video transfer.

After you drop the file, you will see a three-stage status indicator:

  • Video file uploading — the file is transferring to your workspace video library. A progress bar shows the percentage.

  • Video is processing — Tarkle Send is encoding and preparing the video. This can take a few minutes depending on the file size.

  • Video is uploaded and ready — the video is ready and you can proceed.

You cannot submit the transfer until the status shows ready. If the upload fails, an error message appears and you can remove the file and try again.

Paste a video link. Switch to the Video link tab and paste a URL. Supported providers are YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, Bunny, and Gumlet. Wistia embed codes are also supported — paste the embed code and Tarkle Send converts it to a direct media URL automatically. When a supported link is detected, a Detected label appears showing the provider name.

Use an existing video. Switch to the Existing tab and search for a video file already in your workspace. Only video files are shown.

Step 2: Title, summary, and options

Same as a file transfer. Give the video a title (required), an optional summary up to 150 characters, and optionally a custom CTA button with a label and URL. You can also set a cover image from your workspace files.

An AI sparkle button is available on both the title and summary fields to generate content based on the video file name.

You can also enable autoplay, which starts the video automatically when the recipient opens the page.

Step 3: Access and download Settings

For uploaded videos, you have two download options:

  • Allow download (free). Anyone can download the video file for free. You can also enable Allow direct download as a sub-option, which skips the landing page and downloads the file immediately on click.

  • Charge for download (via Stripe). Viewers can watch the video for free, but must pay to download it. You set a price, currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD), a free preview length in seconds, and optionally a maximum number of sales to cap the total downloads.

For videos added via a URL (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, etc.), the download options are not available. Instead you can add:

  • Gated. Recipient submits name and email before seeing the video.

  • Password protected. A password is required to open the page.

All video transfers support Link mode and Email mode the same way as file transfers.

The Video transfer page

After creation, the transfer is live at /v/[slug]. The page shows the video player, title, summary, and optional CTA button. The video streams and plays in the browser with no download required unless you have enabled a download option.
