A direct download link skips the transfer preview page entirely. The moment a recipient clicks the link, the download starts automatically.
How it works
When you enable the Direct link option in your transfer settings, Tarkle Send generates a URL with a /direct path appended. For example: yourdomain.com/t/abc123/direct. Clicking that URL sends the file to the recipient's device immediately.
Standard transfers show a branded preview page first, where the recipient can see the file details before downloading. Direct links remove that step.
When to use it
Software and asset delivery — Send installers, fonts, or zip files where the recipient just needs the download.
Automated workflows — Embed direct links in emails or tools that trigger downloads without human interaction.
Internal teams — Share files with colleagues who do not need a preview or landing page.
Restrictions
The direct link option is only available on the Link sharing tab. It is not available for email transfers. It also cannot be combined with View only, since those are mutually exclusive intentions. External linked files (Google Drive, YouTube, Figma, etc.) do not support direct download.
