A recipient is any person you send files to using Tarkle Send. Recipients are always free. There is no cap on how many people you can send to, and Tarkle Send will never charge you for sending files to more people.

How recipients work

When creating a transfer, you enter the recipient's email address and send. That person receives a notification with a link to access the files. They do not need a Tarkle Send account. They do not need to log in. They simply open the link and download what you sent them.

There is no concept of a paid recipient seat. The number of people you can send files to is not tied to your plan, your storage allocation, or your team size. Sending to 1 person or sending to 50 people in a single transfer works the same way.

Recipients vs. Contacts

A recipient is not the same as a contact. A recipient is anyone you address a file transfer to — it can be someone you have never interacted with before. A contact is a saved record in your workspace with additional details attached. Sending to someone does not automatically save them as a contact, and you do not need to have someone saved as a contact to send to them.

We will cover what contacts are and how they work in a separate article: What Is a Contact in Tarkle Send?
