A gated transfer adds a name and email form in front of your file. The recipient cannot access or download the content until they submit that form. Every submission is captured and stored against the transfer in your workspace.
How it works
When you enable the Gated option in transfer settings, the transfer preview page displays a form instead of a direct download button. The recipient fills in their name and email, then gains access. Their details are recorded automatically under that transfer's activity log.
Use cases
Lead generation — Share a free resource like a PDF, template, or sample and collect contact details before delivery.
Proposal downloads — Require a prospect to identify themselves before downloading a proposal or pricing document.
Content gating for agencies — Share case studies, press kits, or portfolio work and know exactly who accessed them.
Restrictions
The Gated option is only available when sharing by link. It is not available for email transfers since the recipient is already identified. It cannot be combined with Direct link or View only. It is also disabled for external file transfers.
