View only mode lets your recipient see the content, but not save it. The download button is removed from the transfer page. The recipient can watch, read, or listen, but cannot take the file.
How it works
Enable the View only option in transfer settings. When the recipient opens the transfer link, the preview player or document viewer loads normally, but no download option is presented. The file remains in your workspace storage and is never sent to the recipient's device.
Supported file types
View only is available when at least one of the files in your transfer is previewable. Supported types include:
Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WebP, BMP, TIFF
Video: MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV
Audio: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, AAC
Documents: PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT
If none of your files are previewable, the View only option is disabled automatically in the modal.
Use cases
Design previews — Share a visual concept or mockup with a client for feedback, without letting them export the file.
Audio and video review — Send a music track, podcast episode, or video cut for approval before final delivery.
Document review — Share contracts, proposals, or reports that should be read but not printed or distributed.
Restrictions
View only cannot be combined with Direct link or Gated, since both of those options are about downloading. The setting is also not available for external linked files.
