Send large files

Send large files to a client with one link. Free allows files up to 1 GB and Pro and Agency up to 200 GB, and the person who downloads needs no account.

Send large files

To send large files with Tarkle, add them to a transfer and share the one link you get back. Raw footage, photo sets and design source files go in a single transfer, and the person who downloads does not need an account. This page is for agencies, studios and freelancers who deliver big files to a client.

How to send large files

  1. Open Transfers and click New transfer.

  2. Drag in your files or folders. You can also bring files in from Dropbox or Google Drive.

  3. Choose how people open the link: public or with a password. You can also set an expiry date and a download mode (standard, email required or direct).

  4. Copy the link and send it to your client by email, chat or message.

Your client opens the link in a browser. The page has a Download all button that packs several files into one zip, so they do not click file by file.

Large files are uploaded in parts, several at once, so a big upload does not wait on a single slow stream.

What you can control

  • Who can open it: a public link, or a link protected with a password.

  • How long it works: set a date after which the link stops, see Link expiration.

  • How the download starts: a standard page, a page that asks for an email address first, or a direct download link that starts the download when it is opened.

  • What happens next: the Activity list on the transfer shows each Viewed and Downloaded event, with the country and when it happened.

Plans and limits

  • Free: files and transfers up to 1 GB each, with 5 GB of storage.

  • Pro: files up to 200 GB, with 3 TB of storage.

  • Agency: includes everything in Pro, so files up to 200 GB, with 6 TB of storage.

The upload limit is the largest file you can send. Your storage is the total you can keep in your workspace.

Good to know

Check the size of your biggest file against your plan before a delivery is due. Free takes files up to 1 GB each, while Pro and Agency take files up to 200 GB.

Your client downloads from a link, so nothing is attached to an email.
