A custom domain replaces your default workspace.send.tarkle.com URL with a subdomain you own, such as files.acme.com. Every Tarkle Send plan includes custom domain support with no upgrade or extra payment required.
What a custom domain changes
Without a custom domain, your workspace lives at a URL like yourworkspace.send.tarkle.com and system notifications come from notifications@tarkle.com. Once a custom domain is active, two things change:
Clients access your workspace at your own subdomain, such as
files.acme.comorsend.acme.comNotification emails are sent from
notifications@files.acme.comso every email touchpoint carries your domain
Your original workspace.send.tarkle.com address stays active alongside the custom domain, so any existing links you have shared do not break.
Subdomain requirement
Tarkle Send supports any subdomain you choose. Common choices include files., send., share., or portal. in front of your root domain. Root domains (like acme.com without a prefix) are not supported. You must use a subdomain. Entering www as the subdomain is also not allowed.
Adding your custom domain
Go to
/brandingin your workspace and click the Domains tab.Click Add domain. A dialog opens with a single field labeled Domain.
Enter your full subdomain, for example
files.acme.com. Do not includehttps://. The app strips the protocol automatically if you paste a full URL.Click Create.
DNS configuration
After you add a domain, a yellow DNS record panel appears in the Domains tab for any domain that is not yet active. You need to add two A records at your DNS provider:
Type | Host | Value |
A |
|
|
A |
|
|
The Host field shows only the subdomain part, for example files, not the full domain. Copy buttons are available next to every value in the panel. If email domain verification records are also required, those additional records appear in the same panel with their own type, host, value, and TTL columns.
Propagation and status
DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally. The panel shows a Pending status for each record until your DNS provider confirms the change. Click the Refresh button at any time to re-check propagation status without reloading the full page. Once all records are verified, the domain status badge updates to Active and the yellow panel disappears.
Plan availability
Custom domains are included on every Tarkle Send plan. There is no extra charge and no plan upgrade required.
Removing a custom domain
To remove a custom domain, click Delete next to the domain in the Domains tab. A confirmation dialog asks you to type the domain name exactly before the deletion is confirmed. If your workspace has a Stripe integration active, deleting the custom domain also disables that integration until a new custom domain is added.
