How to pause or disable a transfer in Tarkle Send

Disabling a transfer stops anyone from accessing it immediately. The transfer stays in your list, all activity history is preserved, and you can re-enable it at any time from the same menu.

Disabling a transfer is the right action when you need to stop access without permanently deleting the transfer. The link stops working the moment you disable it. No one can view or download the files until you enable it again.

How to disable from the Transfers list

  1. Go to Transfers.

  2. Find the transfer you want to disable.

  3. Click the three-dot action menu at the end of the row.

  4. Click Disable Transfer.

A confirmation appears and the transfer shows a Disabled badge in your list.

How to disable from the transfer detail page

  1. Open the transfer by clicking its name.

  2. Click the three-dot action menu at the top right of the page.

  3. Click Disable Transfer.

The page refreshes and the Disabled badge appears.

How to re-enable a transfer

The same menu item changes to Enable Transfer when the transfer is already disabled. Click it to restore access. The link becomes active again immediately.

When to use disable instead of delete

  • A client's access period ended and you want to cut off delivery without losing the history

  • You sent a transfer by mistake and need to stop access while you review

  • You want to temporarily pause a transfer and bring it back later

  • A burn-after-read transfer was triggered and you need time before regenerating the URL

Deleting a transfer is permanent. Disabling is not. When in doubt, disable first.
