How to limit a transfer to one client organization
Restrict a file transfer or file request to one client organization, so only signed-in members of that company can open it and everyone else is refused.
When you work with several clients, some deliveries must be seen only by one client's company. Tarkle lets you limit a file transfer or a file request to a single client organization, a group of contacts that belong to the same company. It is available to an organization on Pro and Agency.
Before you start: set up the client organization
The client organization and its people must exist before you can choose it.
Create the organization. In Contacts, click New contact, tick Business contact? and type the company in Organization name. You can also open the Organizations tab and click + Organization.
Add colleagues. Open the organization and click Add member. Choose a role and leave Send invite email on for people who are new to your workspace.
Turn on portal access. Open a contact, use the three-dot menu and choose Enable portal access. Tarkle emails a sign-in link to your client portal. Do this for each person who should open the transfer.
Limit a transfer to one client organization
Start a new file transfer. Add the files you want to send.
Add a title and summary. Fill in Title and Summary as usual.
Open the access step. This is where you choose who can open the transfer.
Limit it to an organization. Choose the organization access instead of public, then pick the client organization. If you skip this, Tarkle shows "Please select an organization".
Create the transfer. Only the organization you picked can open it.
Limit a file request to one client organization
In the file request form, choose Share with a specific organization instead of Public link. A field labelled Organization appears, with the placeholder Select an organization. Pick the client organization, then create the request. The list shows only the organizations of your workspace.
Who can open it
Members of that organization. A contact who is signed in to the portal and belongs to the organization can open the transfer. It is also listed under Shared in their portal.
Contacts of another organization. They are refused, even when they are signed in.
Anyone who is not signed in as a member. They cannot open it with the link alone.
You. As the owner of the transfer you can always open it.
A person who is only in your Contacts list, without portal access, cannot sign in, so they cannot open an organization transfer.
What happens next
Your client signs in to the portal, opens Shared and finds the transfer there.
