Client portal
A branded place where each client signs in with their email, sees only what you shared with them and sends files back.
A client portal for agencies gives each client one signed-in place to find what you shared with them, instead of a link buried in an inbox. Clients sign in at your address, see their own files, transfers and requests, and send files back, in a space that carries your logo and accent colour.
How it works
Open Contacts and click the client's name.
In the actions menu, click Enable portal access.
Tarkle emails the client an invite with your logo and brand colour. It links to your workspace address, which is your custom domain if you set one.
If the email did not arrive, click Resend invite on the contact page.
To close access, click Disable portal access. It takes effect at once and the contact record stays.
After the invite, a client signs in by typing their email address and entering a 6-digit code that Tarkle emails them. There is no password to set or forget. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
Client portal for agencies: what the client sees
Home: a welcome, Upload and Folder buttons, their storage use and recent items.
Files: what you shared with them, plus their own uploads.
Shared: transfers sent to them or their company.
Requests: file requests addressed to them.
Brands and Feedback: shown when a Brand Page or a feedback board is shared with them.
Search: press Cmd or Ctrl and K to find a transfer, request, file or folder.
Personal profile: their name, avatar and active sessions, with an authenticator app or a passkey as an optional second step.
What you can control
One client at a time. A client sees only what is linked to them or their company. You can limit a transfer or request to one client with Share with one client or company.
Their team. Group contacts into a company with Client organizations. Colleagues see the same shared items and an owner can add members, if their role allows it.
Uploads. Clients upload only into their own folder. The default limit is 5 GB per contact, and you change it from the Contacts list.
Your brand. The sign-in page, invite email and portal use your logo and accent colour.
Plans and limits
The client portal is available on Pro and Agency. Free cannot turn portal access on.
On Pro, the portal uses your logo, accent colour and custom domain. On Agency, which includes everything in Pro, you can white label the platform: your clients log in and manage their files and team on your own domain, such as cloud.acme.com, and the "Powered by Tarkle" backlink becomes your agency name. Good to know
Passkeys work only on tarkle.com addresses. Clients on a custom domain use an authenticator app instead.
Disabling portal access does not delete the client's contact record.
You cannot preview the portal with your own account unless that account is also a contact with access.
