Tarkle affiliate program: how to earn commission or storage

The Tarkle affiliate program pays you 20% of the payments your referred customers make on Pro. Any Tarkle account holder with a verified email can join, and you need no paid plan. If you would rather earn storage than money, Refer a friend gives you and your friend 5 GB each once your friend signs up and creates a first workspace. This guide covers both, so you can pick the one that fits.

You need a Tarkle account, or a few minutes to create one, and an email address you can read.

Which program is right for you?

Tarkle has two separate programs for people who recommend it. They never mix: storage from Refer a friend cannot become commission, and commission cannot become storage. A new signup is credited to one program or the other, never both.

How do you join the Tarkle affiliate program?

How you join depends on whether you already have an account.

  1. New to Tarkle: open the affiliate page on tarkle.com and use the sign-up button for affiliates. You sign up with your email and verify it. After that you land on the affiliate page. This creates an account only, with no workspace.

  2. Already signed in: open Affiliates in your account menu and use the join button on the page.

Your affiliate access needs a verified email address. Until then the page asks you to verify it. After you verify, your status stays pending for about an hour and then turns active by itself. If your status is paused or rejected, the page asks you to contact support.

Sign up with the email address you actually read. The verification message is the only step between you and your link.

How does the affiliate dashboard work?

The dashboard has five tabs: Commissions, Customers, Links, Payouts and Settings. At the top you see your personal link and three stat cards: Balance, Clicks (for the last 30 days) and Customers (paying customers).

The Links tab is the part worth using. You can create named links, up to 25 live ones, and give each a label of 1 to 40 characters, such as "newsletter" or "YouTube description". You can send each link to a landing page such as Home, Pricing, Features, Integrations, Blog or Sign up. Each named link counts its own clicks, signups, paying customers and earnings, so you learn which channel actually brings people in. You can archive a link: it stops taking new clicks and keeps its history.

The Customers tab shows each referred customer under a made-up name such as "Amber Otter 42", with a country and a purchase date. You never see a customer's real name or email.

What do you earn, and which purchases count?

You earn 20% on qualifying payments, in US dollars, for as long as the referred customer keeps paying. The program pays on Pro. Pro costs $29 per month, or $19 per month billed yearly ($228 per year). At list price, 20% of a monthly payment is $5.80 and 20% of a yearly payment is $45.60, before any discount or refund.

  • Pro subscription payments qualify. Monthly and yearly Pro payments, first payment and renewals, earn commission while the subscription stays active.

  • One subscription per customer. Each referred customer earns you commission through the subscription that their first qualifying purchase starts. A purchase on another workspace earns nothing.

  • Agency and reseller plans do not qualify. Agency payments are not paid on, and neither are Reseller and Reseller Pro payments. If you plan to recommend Agency, do not promise readers a commission on it.

  • New customers only. Someone who already had a Tarkle account before clicking your link does not count.

  • The cookie lasts 45 days. If a visitor clicks your link and buys within 45 days, the sale can be yours. The affiliate terms on the affiliate page set how credit is given when a visitor clicks more than one affiliate link, so read them before you promote.

  • Refunds and disputes adjust commission. A refund reverses commission in proportion to the amount refunded. A dispute holds the commission, and it is restored if Tarkle wins and reversed if it loses.

When are you paid?

Each payment becomes available 45 days after it was made. When your available balance reaches $50, a payout is queued on the 16th of the month. A Tarkle team member then sends it by hand, to the PayPal or Wise email address you saved under Settings. You can keep one payout method active at a time.

Payouts are sent by hand, not automatically, so plan for a short wait after the 16th.

If a refund hits a payment you were already paid on, your balance can go negative. A negative balance blocks payouts until later earnings bring it back up.

Because every payment waits 45 days, your first payout arrives roughly two months after your first referral. Plan for that before you count on the money.

What are you not allowed to do?

The affiliate terms rule out self-referral and accounts you own. They also rule out bidding on "Tarkle" or close variations in paid search, using tarkle.com as a display URL, coupon and cashback sites, cookie stuffing, paying people to sign up, and pretending to be Tarkle. The Terms of Service also ban abusing referrals, promotions or affiliate programs, and the Acceptable Use Policy bans manipulated referrals. Content, newsletters, reviews and social posts are the clean way to earn here.

Disclose your link wherever you share it, right next to the link. The terms ask for plain words such as "Paid link" or "I earn a commission if you buy", and a bare "affiliate link" is not enough. For example: "This post contains a paid link. I earn a commission if you sign up through it." In a video, say it out loud as well.

How do you earn storage with Refer a friend?

Refer a friend is for customers who want more space, not money. Both of you get 5 GB. You find it in your account menu, just above Affiliates.

  1. Open Refer a friend. The page is headed Refer and earn storage.

  2. Copy your personal link, or click Invite via email, enter an email address and click Send.

  3. Your friend signs up with a new account through your link and creates their first workspace. The rewards start here, not at sign-up. Later workspaces do not count, and neither do team invites or accounts you control.

  4. Each referral shows as Signed up until the workspace exists, then Pending for 30 days, then Active.

  5. Click Redeem balance, enter an amount of at least 5 GB, pick one of your workspaces and click Redeem. A message tells you the storage was applied to your workspace.

Storage goes into any workspace you own, on any plan, and a redemption is final: you cannot move it to another workspace later. Each account can hold up to 100 GB of referral storage in total, counting both the reward for being referred and every reward for referring others. A reward that would push you over the cap is not credited and shows as Revoked, and your friend still gets theirs. Tarkle can withhold or reverse rewards that come from abuse.

Send your link to someone who is about to set up their workspace. Nothing is earned until they create it, so a friend who signs up and waits gives you nothing.

What if you run a reseller business?

Resellers have their own tools. The Reseller and Reseller Pro plans include a built-in referral program, and Reseller Pro adds a built-in affiliate program, both for running with your own customers under your brand. They are separate from the two programs above. To see how reselling works, read how to resell cloud storage under your own brand or the page on how to resell Tarkle as your own platform.

Common mistakes

  • Promising readers that an Agency or Reseller sale pays commission. It does not.

  • Using one link everywhere. Make a named link per channel so the Links tab shows what works.

  • Bidding on Tarkle brand keywords in paid search. The terms ban it.

  • Expecting fast payouts. Earnings wait 45 days, the minimum is $50 and payouts are sent by hand.

  • Mixing up the two programs. Storage and commission never convert.

  • Inviting a friend and stopping there. The storage reward needs a first workspace.

Next step

If you recommend tools to clients or readers, open the affiliate page on tarkle.com, join, and make one named link for your best channel. If you only want more storage, open Refer a friend and send your first invitation. And if you want to see what you would be recommending first, start for free and share a file with a client, using file sharing on your own branded link.
