How do download approval and access requests work?

Turn on Require approval to download in Settings → Downloads. Visitors then use Request access instead of Download, and you decide.

Turn on Require approval to download in Settings → Downloads. Visitors then use Request access instead of Download, and you decide.

What the visitor does

  1. Clicks Request access on the brand page.

  2. Enters their name, company and email, and sends it.

A visitor can ask once per day for the same brand. Repeats are accepted without a new notification.

What you do

  • Open the brand and go to its Requests tab. A dot marks pending requests.

  • Click Approve or Reject. You are also emailed, and if Slack is connected you get a message with Approve and Reject buttons.

  • Approving a download request emails the visitor a link that unlocks downloads in the browser where they open it, for one year.

  • Approving or rejecting the same request again is refused ("already approved").

  • Revoke access on an approved request takes the unlock back.

Good to know

  • Your team can always download.

  • Approving a view request (from a password or private page) only marks it approved. It does not let the person in. Share the password, or assign them to a restricted brand.

  • No email is sent when you reject.
