Selling files with paid transfers
Charge for files with paid transfers, and find your paid transfer sales on the Payments screen.
Tarkle charges for files through paid transfers. Recipients pay through Stripe before they can download the files. This article explains what a paid transfer needs, how to set one up and where your paid transfer sales are listed.
What a paid transfer needs
A paid transfer needs three things:
A Pro plan. Paid transfers are a Pro feature. On the Free plan, the Enable paid transfers switch is locked with a Pro badge. See plans and pricing.
The Enable paid transfers switch. Turn it on from the General tab in Settings. Only the workspace owner can change it.
Stripe connected. Connect your own Stripe account in Settings, under Integrations. The payment goes to your Stripe account. Share files and get paid with Stripe explains the connection.
The Charge for download option is shown in the transfer window only once paid transfers are switched on and Stripe is connected.
Charge for files with a paid transfer
In the transfer window, tick Charge for download, then enter a price and choose the currency. How to charge for access to a transfer walks through every step.
Recipients pay through a Stripe payment form when they open the link. After they pay, they can download the files.
A paid transfer cannot use a password, burn after read, an email check, view only or an expiration date. Charging for a transfer leaves these options out.
Paid video and audio transfers use the same option. Viewers preview the video for free, then purchase it to download it. Listeners preview the audio for free, then purchase it to download all tracks. What is an audio transfer page? explains how the audio page works.
Where your paid transfer sales are
Sales from paid transfers are listed on the Payments screen in the sidebar. The screen lists only the transfers you charge for. For each one, it shows the price, the completed purchases and the buyers. Only the owner of the workspace can open it, and it is available on the Pro plan. Payments appears in the sidebar once the Enable paid transfers switch is on and Stripe is connected.
