How the activity page works in Tarkle

The Activity page lists the actions taken in one workspace. Each row shows the item, the action, who did it, their IP address, the time and where the action came from. Activity belongs to each workspace. Sign in to your Tarkle account, then open Activity in the workspace you want to review.

What the page shows

The page loads up to 50 entries for the workspace. The table has no date filter and no way to load older entries, so older actions do not appear on this page.

The table has three columns:

  • What shows the name of the item, such as a file, a folder, a transfer or an API token. Under the name, the row shows by and the name of the person who did it, the IP address and the time. For files, folders, transfers and requests, the name opens the item in a new tab.

  • Action shows what happened, with a label such as Viewed, Downloaded, Uploaded or Deleted.

  • Where shows the country and city the action came from. It shows Unknown when no country is stored.

When no IP address is stored, the row shows Unknown in place of the address. When an address is shown, clicking it copies the address.

Sort the rows

Click What, Action or Where to sort the rows. Click the same header again to reverse the order. Sorting only changes the rows the page has loaded.

Search and refresh

Type in Search activities... to filter the rows by name. The rows update a short moment after you stop typing.

The rows are loaded when the page opens. To load new actions, click the refresh button beside the search box. Its tooltip reads Refresh activities.

Export rows to CSV

  1. Tick the box at the start of each row you want to export.

  2. Click Export selected in the bar that shows how many rows are selected, or click Export in the toolbar.

  3. Open the CSV file that Tarkle downloads. It has the columns Date, Action, Resource, User and Type.

Only the selected rows are exported. In the Action column, the file shows the internal action name, such as file.downloaded, not the label on the screen.

Examples of rows

  • A recipient downloads a file. The row shows Downloaded. Its name is the transfer's description, or its link name when the transfer has no description. The row also shows the recipient's IP address and location.

  • An API token is revoked. The row shows Deleted in Action, and the name reads Token "name" revoked.

To see the views and downloads of one transfer, read How to see if a recipient opened your transfer.
