MEGA affiliate program: what is open and what pays
What MEGA's affiliate page and invite reward offer today, with a disclosure example and no income promises.
MEGA no longer publishes an affiliate page on mega.io. What it does publish for sending people its way is an invite reward: 5 GB of storage for each friend you invite who installs the app. The MEGA affiliate program and the invite reward are two different things, and this guide keeps them apart, shows what each one paid or pays, and gives you a plain disclosure to put next to any MEGA link.
What happened to the MEGA affiliate program page?
The MEGA facts in this guide were read on MEGA's own pages on 31 October 2026, and the links go to those pages. MEGA can change them at any time, so open the source before you publish a number.
The address mega.io/affiliate used to carry a page headed "Become a MEGA affiliate". An archived copy from 9 February 2025 says you joined through the CJ network, that MEGA would review your application within 2-3 business days, and that there were no minimum sales required to earn commissions. It promised a "generous commission" but gave no rate, no cookie length and no payout date.
Today, mega.io/affiliate sends you to the MEGA home page. If MEGA or an affiliate network invites you into a program by email, read the terms inside that invitation before you promote anything, and ask for the rate in writing. Before you share any details with a site that says it runs a MEGA program, check that its address is mega.io or mega.nz.
What does the MEGA invite reward pay?
MEGA's Achievements page says you get 5 GB of free storage for each friend you invite to MEGA who installs the app, and that the friend should be a new user who has not used MEGA before. Each achievement adds 5 GB for 365 days, and the page excludes Business and Pro Flexi users. Activation can take two to three days, and you check the status on a dashboard in your profile.
The same page lists other 5 GB achievements: installing the desktop app, installing a mobile app, and starting a MEGA VPN or MEGA Pass free trial. MEGA's free plan starts at 20 GB, so the reward is a way to add space, not a payout.
Send the invite to someone who has never had a MEGA account and ask them to install the app. The reward lasts 365 days, so note the date you earned it in your calendar.

Can you trust the rates on directory pages?
Search results for "MEGA affiliate program" are full of directory pages that quote a rate and a cookie length, and Referly says its own sources disagree and tells readers to confirm the rate at signup. None of it comes from MEGA, so leave those numbers out of your own content.
Never copy a commission rate from a directory into your post. If the number is wrong, your readers see your page, not the directory's. Quote a rate only from the program's own terms.
What do MEGA's terms mean for referrers?
MEGA's terms of service say you must not open multiple free accounts, and must not sell or resell access to MEGA's services, or otherwise supply them to anyone, without MEGA's prior written consent. So keep invites for real new people, and treat reselling as something to agree with MEGA first.

What do users say about MEGA?
If you write a review, tell readers what other people report. Trustpilot showed MEGA at 3.6 from 1,951 reviews on its mega.nz page when we read it on 31 October 2026. Trustpilot also says reviews are the opinions of individual users, so treat the score as one signal.
How should you disclose a MEGA link?
Put the disclosure next to the link, in plain words, not in a footer. Two examples you can adapt:
For an invite: "This post contains my MEGA invite. If you join through it and install the app, I get 5 GB of extra storage."
For a paid link, if MEGA ever accepts you into a program: "This post contains a paid link. I earn a commission if you buy through it."
Do not promise yourself or your readers an income. The invite reward is storage that lasts 365 days, not money.

Common mistakes
Quoting a commission and a cookie from a directory, not from MEGA.
Treating the invite reward as income. It is storage, it expires after 365 days and it is not available to Business and Pro Flexi users.
Inviting someone who already has a MEGA account. The page asks for new users.
Opening extra free accounts to collect rewards, which the terms prohibit.
Putting the disclosure in a footer instead of next to the link.
