Tarkle vs Air.inc: branded file sharing or an asset library

Air.inc is a visual asset library with AI. Tarkle is branded file sharing for clients. Plans, limits and who fits.

8 min read

Air.inc is better when your main job is a searchable visual library with AI search and AI editing. Tarkle is better when your main job is delivering files to clients under your own brand, on your own domain, with a client portal, passwords and paid downloads. We make Tarkle, so read this as one vendor's view and check the sources linked below. Last checked: October 2026.

What Air.inc is

Air is a visual workspace for creative teams, made by Air Inc. in the United States. It stores images, video and documents on boards, lets you search them with AI, and adds review and approval on top. It also has "Canvas", an AI editor for resizing and adapting assets. Air lists customers such as Smalls, Hydrow and The Infatuation on its own site, and targets creative operations, brand management and agency teams.

In short, Air is a digital asset manager (DAM) with sharing built in. The sharing exists so your team can show work to people outside it.

What Air.inc offers

Air's help center lists four plans, read in October 2026 on its pricing and plans article:

  • Free: $0, 10 GB of storage, up to 3 users and 100 AI credits a month.

  • Starter: $125 a month or $1,200 a year, 200 GB, up to 5 users and 500 credits. It adds passcode-protected links with expiration dates.

  • Business: $1,100 a month or $10,800 a year, 2 TB, unlimited users, 2,000 credits and advanced sharing permissions.

  • Enterprise: custom price, with SAML single sign-on and more storage.

Air's own pages do not always agree on these figures, so confirm the price on its pricing page before you decide. Extra storage comes in 1 TB steps at $500 a year, on Business and Enterprise only.

Air allows single uploads up to 5 TB and has a desktop sync app, a mobile app and many integrations: Figma, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, Slack, Zapier and imports from Dropbox, Google Drive and Box. Outside people can upload to a board through a Content Collection form link, which is Air's closest match to a file request. Its help center says share links are free to create, while passcodes and expiry are paid features. Custom brand elements on shared "Showcases" start on Business, and white-labelled Showcases are Enterprise. Air's help center and pricing pages, read in October 2026, do not describe a custom domain for share links or paid downloads. Air says its data sits in AWS in North Virginia, with custom regions for Enterprise, and its pricing page states SOC 2 Type II certification.

What Tarkle does

Tarkle gives freelancers, agencies and small teams one place to store and share files under their own brand. Plans and prices are read from Tarkle pricing:

  • Free: $0, 5 GB, one workspace for one person, files up to 1 GB, with a custom domain and custom branding.

  • Pro: $29 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly. 3 TB, files up to 200 GB, unlimited team members, a fully branded client portal, file versions and 90-day recovery.

  • Agency: $59 a month, or $49 a month billed yearly. Everything in Pro, 20 workspaces for clients, 6 TB and a 100% white-label platform.

What you do with those plans is send and collect files. You share files by link, protect them with a password or an expiry date, and request files from clients with one link. Each client can sign in to a client portal, see only what you shared and send files back. Images and PDFs become a review board that clients comment on and approve without an account. You can charge for a download through your own Stripe account, play video and audio in a built-in player, and share logos, colors and fonts on brand pages.

On Agency, white label replaces Tarkle with your agency name, logo, colors and domain, such as cloud.acme.com. A custom domain is available on every plan. You can choose where files are stored: Europe, the US, Asia-Pacific or Oceania.

Who should choose Air.inc

Choose Air if the library is the product. That means thousands of images and videos you need to find by what they show, with AI search, tagging, version stacking and Canvas to resize approved work into new formats. Air also fits teams that live inside Figma, Canva or Premiere Pro, want a desktop sync app, accept uploads up to 5 TB, or need SSO and a SOC 2 Type II report. If you review video frame by frame with your team, Air lists timestamp comments on video, and we do not claim that for Tarkle.

Air also has a Free plan that is not a trial, so a small team can test it at no cost.

Who should choose Tarkle

Choose Tarkle when the job is sending work to clients and getting files back, and the client should see your brand, not ours. A freelancer or agency can set a logo, accent color and favicon, put every link on its own domain, and give each client a portal login. On Agency, each client gets their own workspace with its own storage.

The price gap matters for small studios. Pro is $29 a month and includes 3 TB, a branded client portal and unlimited team members. Air's Starter is $125 a month for 200 GB and up to 5 users, so the two are not like for like: Air's price buys AI credits and a visual library, and Tarkle's buys storage, a portal and branding. If you do not need AI search or AI editing, you pay for less you will not use.

Tarkle also lets you charge for a download and send a file of up to 200 GB with one link that needs no account. If you are weighing a portal against plain links, read client portal vs file sharing. A free workspace is enough to send one real transfer to a client: start for free.

Switching from Air.inc to Tarkle

Air's published pages do not describe an export tool, so plan on downloading your files and uploading them again.

  1. Create a Tarkle account and your workspace.

  2. Set Branding: logo, favicon and accent color.

  3. Connect your custom domain.

  4. Download the folders you still need from Air and upload them to Files in matching folders. If copies also sit in Dropbox or Google Drive, import them from there.

  5. Rebuild your client areas: a folder and a portal contact per client on Pro, or a workspace per client on Agency.

  6. Send one real transfer to a client and check how it looks on their side.

Move one active client first and keep Air running for the rest. When that client has received a transfer on your domain, move the next one.
