What people see when you paste a Tarkle link in a chat
Learn what the link preview card shows for transfers, file requests, events, brand pages and feedback boards, and when it shows only "Shared with you" instead of your title.
When you paste a Tarkle link into a chat app or a social network, the app draws a small preview card with an image. Tarkle generates that card for you, so you do not need to upload anything for most links. This article explains what the card shows for each kind of link.
What the card shows
A generated card has your workspace logo and name at the top, then a title and a few lines of detail. An event cover or a brand image you upload replaces the generated card.
File transfer, video, audio and feedback board: the title and description of the transfer or board. A transfer with no title shows "Transfer #" and its code. A feedback board also carries the label "Feedback". The card does not show file names or sizes.
File request: the request title and description, with the label "File request".
Event: if the event has a cover banner, that image is the preview. If it has none, the card shows the event title, the date, the time with the event's time zone, and the place (or "Online"). Draft and cancelled events have no card.
Brand page: if the brand has an Open Graph image or a banner, that image is the preview. If it has neither, the card shows the brand name and description with the label "Brand assets".
Workspace profile page: your logo, workspace name and workspace description.
Sign-in page: the title "Sign in", with your workspace name and description.
When the card is generic
A preview can be read by anyone the link is pasted to, so Tarkle hides the details when the link itself is not open to everyone. In these cases the card shows only your logo and workspace name:
A file transfer, video, audio or feedback board link that has a password, asks for an email address, is limited to chosen people or organizations, or has expired. The card carries the title "Shared with you".
A brand page that is password protected or restricted. The card never names the brand.
A draft brand page shows no preview at all. A transfer that has been turned off has no card.
Add your own image
For an event, add a banner in the Cover banner card on the event edit page. For a brand page, upload the Open Graph image in Search and sharing in the brand editor, at 1200x630px. Until you upload one, that field uses your banner.
The "Powered by" line
The card can carry a small "Powered by" line at the bottom right. It names the brand behind your workspace: Tarkle, or your reseller or Agency name. Whether you can turn it off depends on your organization's plan. The Backlink card in your workspace settings holds the switch, and it stays on when your plan does not allow removal.
