A feedback board is one link where reviewers comment on a PDF or a set of images. Create one when you need a client to point at the exact spot they mean, without an account.

Steps

  1. Open Feedback. In the sidebar, click Feedback.

  2. Start a board. Click Create board to open the Get feedback window.

  3. Choose the type. Pick PDF or Image.

  4. Add your files. Use the Upload tab, or the Library tab to pick stored files.

  5. Wait for the upload. Each file shows as ready when it is uploaded. Click Retry on a file that failed.

  6. Set access and downloads. Tick Add password, Add deadline or Allow downloads if you need them.

  7. Create the board. Click Create board at the bottom of the window.

  8. Share it. On the Your board is ready screen, copy the link. To email it instead, enter addresses under Share by email and click Send.

The three checkboxes

All three are off by default.

  • Add password: a field appears where you type the password. Reviewers must enter it to open the board. If you leave it empty, Tarkle asks you to enter a password.

  • Add deadline: a date field and a time field appear, in your workspace's time zone. The deadline must be in the future. After it passes, nobody can comment, and the board stays open to read.

  • Allow downloads: viewers get a Download button that saves the board's files as a zip. To change it later, open the board's three-dot menu and click Allow downloads or Disable downloads.

A board holds one kind of file, not both, and changing the type clears files you already added. If you connected Dropbox or Google Drive, their tabs appear next to Upload and Library. The board's name is the first file's name, or "N files" when you add several.

Limits

On the Free plan you can have 5 active boards, and archived boards do not count. Paid plans have no limit. You need the permission to create and share files to create a board.

What happens next

The board is created and you get its link right away. Click Done to close the window. Reviewers open the link, enter a name and email to comment, and click the spot they mean.
