File sharing for voice over artists: takes to final audio
Share a set of takes on one listening page, get the approval by reply and deliver the final audio from one link.
File sharing for voice over artists comes down to three steps: a set of takes the client can listen to in the browser, an approval on the take they choose, and one link for the final audio. A voice-over artist who sends takes as attachments ends up hunting for the right file.
Why takes should not travel as attachments
A client who wants to hear take four should not have to download every take to find it. When a reply says "take two, but the ending", it is not clear which file was meant. A listening page with the takes in script order, each one named, removes that guessing.
Name every take with the project, the script line and the take number, for example Acme_spot_line3_take04. Use the same name in the email, so "take 04" means one file to both of you.
File sharing for voice over artists, step one: the listening page
Put the takes in one transfer and send one link. The video and audio sharing page plays audio in the browser, so the client can listen before anything downloads. In the feature's words, reviewers "can watch a cut or listen to a mix without downloading it first, and download only when they need the file." It "works for single files and for collections of audio tracks", so a set of takes can share one page.
The person who opens the link needs no account to download. Tarkle's file sharing page covers the basics of sending one branded link for files and folders.

For a quick word about a take, Tarkle does not record audio in the app. Write a short note in the same email as the link and name the take number. That keeps the feedback next to the audio it refers to.
Step two: get the approval, then check who listened
Ask the client to reply with the take number they chose, for example "take 04 approved". That reply is your record of the choice, and it is easier to find than a phone call or a chat thread. Keep the reply with the transfer in your notes.
Before you chase a slow answer, check transfer status. It shows whether a transfer was delivered, viewed or downloaded, so you know whether the client opened the page before you follow up.
Ask for the take number in the reply, not for "your thoughts". A one-line answer closes the step faster.
Step three: deliver the final audio with one link
The final is the file the client pays for, so send it as its own transfer, separate from the takes. Let the client listen first and save the file afterwards. Or use a direct download link, which "starts the download the moment it is opened, with no page in between."
Size decides the plan. On Free, the upload limit is 1 GB. Pro and Agency support files up to 200 GB, and the send large files page covers that. Check the size of the final against your plan before you send it, not on the morning of the deadline.
To stop a link once the job is paid, set a date with link expiration: "Set a date after which a transfer or request link stops working." For a transfer only one person should open, add a password so nobody gets in without entering it first.
Embed the takes on your own website
A voice-over artist with a demo reel can show it on their own site. Embed audio shows an audio transfer, with a multi-track player, on your own web page, and visitors get a player with every track in the transfer. Embeds on your own website are available on Pro, and Agency includes everything in Pro.
Tarkle does not record audio in the app. Record and edit the takes in your own software, then upload the exports to the transfer. The routine above starts once the files are ready to share.
