Icedrive lifetime storage costs $229 for 500 GB or $499 for 2 TB, paid once. pCloud lifetime costs $219 for 500 GB, $499 for 2 TB or $1,499 for 10 TB. When you compare Icedrive lifetime vs pCloud, the prices are almost identical, so the choice comes down to what you do with the files: Icedrive suits private, encrypted personal storage, and pCloud suits people who want folder sync, automatic backup and a bigger top tier.

Icedrive pricing at a glance

Icedrive sets these prices on its own lifetime plans and plans pages.

Icedrive's lifetime plans are the 500 GB plan at $229 and the 2 TB plan at $499, both paid once, with no monthly or yearly fees. New customers get 30% off the first year or 80% off the first month on Pro plans, the monthly or yearly subscription, so check that offer against the lifetime price before you decide.

Paid Icedrive plans, lifetime included, come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Icedrive also says lifetime is made for casual personal use and that heavier workloads may fit a subscription better.

pCloud lifetime and subscription prices

Figures in this section come from Gizmodo's pCloud pricing guide, published October 4, 2026. Check pCloud's pricing page before you buy, because pCloud runs time-limited offers.

pCloud sells three lifetime plans, paid once: 500 GB for $219, 2 TB for $499 and 10 TB for $1,499. Its site shows crossed-out prices of $279, $709 and $2,799 next to them. Gizmodo says $219, $499 and $1,499 are the prices pCloud normally charges, so those are the figures used here.

Gizmodo lists the yearly prices as $49.99 for 500 GB and $99.99 for 2 TB. Every plan, lifetime included, can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. pCloud also discounts lifetime plans several times a year, around holidays and at the start of the school year, so the price you see can change.

At 500 GB pCloud is cheaper, $219 against $229. At 2 TB the two cost the same, so the decision is about features, not price. If you need more than 2 TB paid once, only pCloud sells it.

A lifetime plan pays off when you keep it long enough. Using the yearly price of $99.99 for 2 TB, pCloud's $499 lifetime plan matches five years of subscription. Lifetime also depends on the company staying in business, so it is a bet on the provider as much as a saving.

What the cheaper-looking plan leaves out

Icedrive encrypts files on your device with Twofish before upload, so the readable file never reaches Icedrive. Its lifetime plans list zero-knowledge encryption and instant activation, and no file versioning or desktop sync. If you need those, check with Icedrive support which ones your lifetime plan includes before you pay.

pCloud's home page describes automatic backup and sync. Gizmodo says every plan includes file history and password-protected share links. Its encryption add-on costs $150 for life and covers only one folder, so a 2 TB plan with it costs more than $499. Gizmodo also says standard plans already encrypt files on pCloud's servers.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Icedrive if you want private, encrypted personal storage with the encryption included in the price, and 500 GB or 2 TB is enough. Icedrive's lifetime page says lifetime is ideal for personal files, photos, occasional backups and everyday sharing. Test it with your own files inside the 30-day money-back guarantee before you rely on it.

Choose pCloud if you want sync and automatic backup, or a 10 TB lifetime plan. Its encryption is a separate add-on that costs $150 for life, so add that cost if you need it. Our separate guide covers pCloud lifetime cloud storage in more detail.

Choose a subscription instead of lifetime if you need more than 2 TB on Icedrive, because its lifetime plans stop at 2 TB, or if you need file versioning and desktop sync, which its lifetime list does not show. For a wider comparison of one-time deals, read best lifetime cloud storage deals.
