What is a Tarkle workspace?
A workspace holds your files, contacts, branding and members, and your organization's plan sets how many you can have.
A workspace is where you share files, keep contacts, set your branding and work with your team. Your account can own workspaces, and your organization's plan decides how many it can own and how much storage they share.
What each workspace keeps
Each workspace keeps its own:
Files and folders, stored in that workspace and counted against its own storage usage.
Contacts, listed on the Contacts page of the workspace you have open.
Branding, with its own logo, favicon and accent color, and one custom domain.
Members, managed on the Members page, which only the workspace owner can open.
Settings, with the workspace name and business details on the General tab of Settings.
What your organization sets
The plan and the billing belong to your organization, not to a single workspace. The organization has one subscription that covers all of its workspaces, and you manage it on Billing. The plan sets how many workspaces the organization can have and how much storage they share:
Free: 1 workspace.
Pro: 2 workspaces and a 3 TB storage pool.
Agency: 20 workspaces and a 6 TB storage pool.
You can compare the plans on pricing.
All workspaces of an organization draw from the same storage pool. To keep one workspace from using the whole pool, open the row menu of that workspace on the hub and choose Assign limit. That limit is the most the workspace may use.
Each workspace has one custom domain, set on its Domains page in Settings. To connect one, follow how to use a custom domain for your file sharing links.
If the organization moves to a plan that allows fewer workspaces, the extra workspaces are switched off, not deleted. Free keeps the workspace that uses the least storage, and the other plans keep the oldest one.
Create a workspace
Open the hub at Workspaces, where your workspaces are listed.
Click New workspace.
In Create workspace, enter a workspace name and choose where your data is stored.
Submit the form.
The new workspace is added to the list on the hub. If the organization is already at its workspace limit, New workspace opens the upgrade dialog instead.
Switch between workspaces
Click the workspace name at the bottom of the sidebar. Under Switch workspace, click the workspace you want to open. All workspaces takes you back to the hub. If you have no other workspace, the menu says Account and its first item is Account home.
Owners also see Link workspace in this menu. A linked workspace is marked Linked in the list.
When to use more than one workspace
Use a separate workspace for each business or client that needs its own name, logo, custom domain, members or contacts. The Agency plan adds client workspaces, and you can create one for each client as described in How do I create a workspace for a client?
