Tarkle vs Bynder alternative: share brand files with clients

Bynder is a DAM sold by quote. Tarkle shares brand files and finished work with clients on published plans.

Bynder is built for large brands that need one governed system of record across many teams, brands and markets. Tarkle is a Bynder alternative for small teams: it stores logos, fonts and approved files and shares them, along with your finished work, with clients through links on your own domain. We make Tarkle, so read this as one vendor's view and check the sources linked below.

What Bynder is

Bynder describes its DAM as "the system of record for all your content" (Bynder DAM page, as published in November 2026). The same page says it supports "multiple brands, markets, and teams on a single platform". Bynder says it serves 4000+ customers, and its home page leads with "Power your content supply chain" and an invitation to book a demo (bynder.com, November 2026).

In plain words, Bynder is a digital asset management system: one governed library that a whole company works from.

What Bynder offers

Bynder sells through custom packages. Its pricing page is headed "Build your custom package" and says "Bynder experts are happy to discuss the needs of your business and build a personalized offer for you." The page ends with a quote request, so there is no list price to compare. The first step is a conversation: the home page describes "A short 15-minute call" followed by "a demo with a product expert" (November 2026).

On the product side, the DAM page lists a "configurable taxonomy that maps to your own business language" and "role-based access controls". The pricing page lists modules such as Bynder DAM, Asset Workflow, Studio, Analytics and an Integration Marketplace with "160+ integrations out of the box". Asset Workflow "makes briefing, proofing, and approving digital assets more accessible than ever". Every package includes "Single Sign-on", "Onboarding program", "24/7 support" and "Custom URL" (November 2026).

For people outside the company, Bynder offers "customizable homepages and portal experiences tailored to every audience, from internal marketing teams to external partners" (DAM page, November 2026).

What Tarkle does

Tarkle is a cloud storage and file-sharing platform for freelancers, agencies, and client-facing businesses. The plans, as published on the pricing page in November 2026:

  • Free is $0 forever, with no credit card required: 5 GB of storage, uploads up to 1 GB, file sharing and file requests, client feedback and approval, a custom domain and branding, and sharing logos and brand assets. The Powered by Tarkle line stays on Free. Free also has monthly limits on transfers and file request submissions.

  • Pro is $29/month, or $19/month billed yearly ($228/year): 3 TB of storage, uploads up to 200 GB, file versioning and a fully branded client portal. Pro and Agency include unlimited team members; Free is for one person.

  • Agency is $59/month, or $49/month billed yearly ($588/year): everything in Pro plus 20 workspaces for your clients, 6 TB of storage and a 100% white-label platform.

The part that matters for brand files is the Brand Page: a clean page for a brand's logos, colours, fonts and images, to use inside your team or share with a client. You choose who can open it. Public means anyone with the link. Password protected means anyone with the password, plus your team. Restricted means only the contact or organization the brand is assigned to, plus your team; everyone else sees a private page with a request form. Visitors can download logos and images from the page, and you can require approval first. Free includes 1 brand page. Pro and Agency have no limit on brand pages, and each brand page can use its own domain on Pro and Agency.

For finished work, a client signs in to the client portal with their email and sees what you shared with them, plus the files they upload back. The client portal is on Pro and Agency. Each transfer shows whether it was delivered, viewed or downloaded, so you know when to follow up. File requests collect files from anyone with one link, into the folder you choose.

Who should choose Bynder

Choose Bynder if you manage assets for a large brand with many markets and teams. The things it lists, a configurable taxonomy, role-based access controls, Single Sign-on, workflows for briefing and approving, an onboarding program and 160+ integrations, are the tools of a company-wide system of record. If your problem is finding the right asset across a very large library under one governance model, weigh Bynder first. Its pricing comes from a quote, so ask for one.

Who should choose Tarkle

Choose Tarkle if you are a small agency, studio or in-house team that keeps logos, fonts and approved files and sends finished work to clients. The job is different: not governing a library for a company, but getting the right files to the right client, on your own address.

  • Brand files for a client. Put the logos, colours, fonts and images on a Brand Page, and restrict it to that client or share it with a password. Read more in brand asset management for small business.

  • Your own address. Use custom branding and a custom domain. Free includes one custom domain for sharing links, and each brand page can use its own domain on Pro and Agency.

  • One place per client. On Pro and Agency, the client portal shows each client the files you shared with them and the files they upload, and clients sign in with a link sent to their email.

  • A price you can read. The plans above are published, and Free is $0 forever, with no credit card required.

Tarkle covers storing brand files and sharing them with clients. It does not replace Bynder's company-wide system of record, which is a different job.

Start on Free: send one real transfer on your own domain and set up one Brand Page. The client portal is on Pro and Agency, so that is where to go when you are ready to give clients their own sign-in. For a second view on asset libraries, read Tarkle vs Air.inc.

Switching from Bynder to Tarkle

  1. Gather the logos, fonts and approved files you share with clients today.

  2. Start for free. You sign in or create an account with an emailed code or Google.

  3. Upload the files into folders. If copies already sit in Google Drive or Dropbox, import them without downloading them first.

  4. Create a Brand Page for each brand and set it to public, password protected or restricted. Free allows one Brand Page.

  5. Point your own domain at your links. Free includes one custom domain for sharing links.

  6. On Pro or Agency, turn on portal access for a client contact and Tarkle emails them an invite.

Start with the one client who asks for logos most often. Send them a Brand Page with a password and see whether the emails stop before you move the rest.
