How to embed an audio transfer on your website

Show an audio transfer on your own web page with its player. Visitors can listen without leaving your page. The embedded player is listen only, so it has no download button.

Before you start

  • The transfer must be an audio transfer with at least one audio track. To add tracks, see How to create an audio transfer.

  • The transfer must be public. The Embed audio option only appears for public transfers, and a private transfer shows a "not found" page in the embed.

  • Your organization must be on a plan that includes embeds. Embeds are included on Pro, and Agency includes everything in Pro. On the Free plan, the Embed audio option does not appear. Compare the plans on pricing.

A password or an email gate can stay on the transfer. Viewers enter the password or email inside the embed, and the player loads after that. See How recipients open a password protected transfer.

Copy the embed code

  1. Open the Transfers list and click the three-dot menu on the audio transfer's row, or open the transfer's detail page and click its three-dot menu.

  2. Click Embed audio.

Tarkle copies the embed code to your clipboard and shows the message "Embed code copied".

Paste the code on your page

  1. Add a custom HTML block or an embed section where the player should appear.

  2. Paste the code into it and save the page.

The player appears on the page inside a frame that is at least 500px tall. The embedded player reports its height, and the frame changes its height to fit the player.

What viewers see

The player lists the tracks in the transfer, shows a waveform, and has play and pause, skip back and forward 15 seconds, mute, and playback speed from 0.75x to 2x.

There is no download button. If the transfer has a password or an email gate, viewers see a form first, and the player loads after they pass it.

When the embed shows "not found"

The embed shows a "not found" page when the transfer is private, disabled or expired, when it is not an audio transfer, or when the organization's plan does not include embeds. If the transfer is disabled, enable it again.

Width and address

The embed is at most 768px wide and centered on the page. In a narrower space, it fills the width of its container.

The address in the code uses your workspace's custom domain when one is set. Otherwise it uses your workspace address on tarkle.com.

What happens next

Open the page where you pasted the code and check that the player shows. Viewers can then listen on your page without a download step.
