How do I use my own domain with the Agency plan?
The Agency plan includes one organization domain, so clients open Tarkle at an address you own.
The Agency plan includes one organization domain, so clients open Tarkle at an address you own. You connect that domain on the Settings page, and invitation links to a client workspace use it once it is active. Only an organization on the Agency plan sees the Domains card, and the domain is used only while White label is on and the Agency plan is in force. To turn White label on, follow How do I set up white label on the Agency plan?. Plans and prices are on pricing.
Connect your domain
Open Settings. This is the settings page of your organization.
In the Domains card, below the General settings form, click Add domain.
In the Add custom domain dialog, enter a subdomain such as app.yourdomain.com in the Domain field and click Create.
Add every DNS record shown at your DNS host. The records cover your domain, the workspace addresses (a wildcard) and sending email from your domain.
Click Refresh / check until the status shows Active.
Enter a subdomain, not a root domain. A root domain like yourdomain.com can't be used, and a domain that starts with www is refused too. Keep the dialog open while you add the records. Until then the status reads Pending. When Tarkle has verified the domain, the dialog closes and shows the message "Custom domain verified and connected."
What happens next
When the status shows Active, invite a client and open the invitation link to check that it opens on your domain.
Good to know
One domain, locked when active. You have one organization domain. Until it is active, the button reads Change domain: click it, enter the new subdomain and add its records. Once the domain is active, the button is no longer shown and the domain is locked. To change an active domain, contact Tarkle support.
Domains already in use are refused. A domain that is already in use elsewhere in Tarkle is refused with "This domain is already assigned to ...". The message names where it is used: a workspace's file-delivery domain, a brand page, another workspace's Events domain or a partner platform.
Workspace and Brand Page domains are separate. Workspace domains and Brand Page domains are separate settings and do not use up your organization's one domain. Read How to set up a custom domain for a workspace, and How do I use my own domain for a brand page? for a Brand Page.
Email before and after verification. Until the sending records verify, emails come from a Tarkle address under your organization's name. After they verify, emails come from notifications@ followed by your domain. Invitation links can open on your domain before then.
Invitations. Invitation links to a client workspace use your domain once it is active. Invitations to become an admin of the organization always use Tarkle's own address, even when the domain is active.
If the Agency plan ends. Tarkle's own brand and address are used again. See What happens if my Agency plan ends?.
