How to add logos, colors and fonts to a brand page

Add your logos, colors and fonts in the Logos, Colors and Fonts tabs of the brand editor.

Each brand page keeps its logos, colors and fonts. You add each one in its own tab of the brand editor, and visitors see them on the public brand page. The editor has these tabs: Basics, Links, Logos, Colors, Fonts, Assets, SEO and Settings. Free allows one brand page for the whole organization, and Pro and Agency allow unlimited brand pages, see Brand page plans and limits.

Steps

  1. Open the brand. On the brand pages list, open a brand or start a new one. New to brand pages? How to create a brand page covers the first steps.

  2. Add the logos. In the Logos tab, choose a file for Icon or Main logo. Add a Brand banner for the header image of your brand page.

  3. Add more logos. Under Additional logos, click Add logo, pick one or more files, then give each logo a name, a type and a usage. You can add up to 20 additional logos.

  4. Set the colors. In the Colors tab, set the Primary color. Click Add secondary color for a second main color, and click Add color for each extra color, then give it a name.

  5. Add print values (optional). Under Print values, enter a CMYK value and a Pantone name, such as 2665 C, for any color.

  6. Choose the fonts. In the Fonts tab, click the Headline box, then the Body box. In the window, choose Google, Adobe or Custom, then click Continue.

  7. Save and set access. Use the save buttons at the top of the editor to save a draft or publish the brand. In the Settings tab, choose who can open the page under Access, see Who can open a brand page?

Logo and image files

Tarkle checks each image by what the file really is, not by its name. The picker refuses a file whose name does not end in an allowed type. When the brand is saved, the server reads the first bytes of each image, and a file that is not a real image of an allowed type is refused with a message such as "The icon is not a real image file."

  • Icon, Main logo and additional logos: PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, up to 10 MB.

  • Brand banner and Open Graph image: PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 10 MB. SVG is not accepted. The Open Graph image is the social image, set in the SEO tab.

  • Favicon: PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or ICO, up to 2 MB, set in the SEO tab. The field asks for a square image, at least 128x128. Until you upload one, the Icon serves as the favicon.

Each file picker offers Upload and Library, and Dropbox and Google Drive once you have connected them.

The Offer black and white versions switch, under Logo downloads in the Logos tab, is on for a new brand. While it is on, visitors can download a one-color black or white copy of a transparent logo. Tarkle makes these copies itself, and only when you have not uploaded a monochrome or reversed logo of your own. The download menu on a logo offers the original file, an SVG for a vector logo, PNG at 512, 1024 or 2048 px, and the black and white versions.

Downloads from logo and asset tiles

On a phone or tablet, the download button on each logo and asset tile is always visible, and the download button on a logo opens the format menu. On a computer, the button appears when you hover over the tile or move to it with the keyboard. On a logo tile, the button shows only when the visitor can download from the brand page. To have visitors request access first, turn on Require approval to download in the Settings tab, see How do download approval and access requests work?.

Colors and fonts

Set the Primary color and, if you need one, a Secondary color, by picking a color or typing a HEX value. You can add up to 30 additional colors. Under Print values, enter the exact CMYK for a color as four numbers from 0 to 100. A CMYK value you enter replaces the approximate one Tarkle works out from the screen color, and you can enter print values for up to 40 colors.

Each slot, Headline and Body, takes one font. The Custom tab takes a WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF file, up to 10 MB, and the font takes its name from the file. To change the name shown on the page, edit Shown on the page as. The Adobe tab appears once you have entered an Adobe Fonts web project: open the Settings tab, find the Integrations card, and turn on Adobe Fonts to paste your web project ID or stylesheet link. Visitors see Adobe fonts without needing Adobe, and they cannot download them.

What happens next

After you publish, the logos, colors and fonts show on the public brand page. Next, open the Assets tab to add Brand assets, Team, Press and Guidelines, see How to add guidelines, team, press and asset collections.
