The Crisp integration adds the Crisp live chat bubble to the public pages of a Tarkle workspace. You connect it by saving your Crisp Website ID in the workspace's Integrations settings. This article covers how to connect Crisp, where the bubble shows, how Crisp works next to the other live chat tools and how to disconnect it.

Connect Crisp

  1. Open Settings in the workspace you want to connect, then choose the Integrations tab, or go straight to Integrations.

  2. Find the Crisp card in the live chat group, next to Intercom and HubSpot Chat. You can also type Crisp in the Search integrations... box. Click Connect.

  3. In the dialog, paste your Website ID into the field.

  4. Click Save.

A blank field is not saved, and an error message appears. Tarkle does not check the format of the ID, so copy it exactly. Each workspace keeps its own Website ID, so connect Crisp in every workspace that should show the bubble.

After a save, a success message confirms the connection. The Crisp card then shows a Connected badge and a Manage button.

Where the chat bubble shows

Once a Website ID is saved, the Crisp chat bubble loads on the public pages of the workspace: transfer pages, file request pages and Brand Pages. It does not load in the Tarkle dashboard. The chat script receives only your Website ID.

Note: if your organization is on the Free plan, and its stored files are over the Free storage limit, its public pages show a not found page, so the chat bubble does not load there either.

One live chat tool at a time

Crisp, Intercom and HubSpot Chat belong to one live chat group, and only one of them can be connected in a workspace. While one is connected, the other two cards are faded and cannot be opened. Saving a Website ID also clears any Intercom or HubSpot Chat setting in the workspace. The Intercom integration and HubSpot Chat integration articles cover those two tools. To use one of them, disconnect the connected tool first.

Disconnect Crisp

Open the Integrations tab, click Manage on the Crisp card, then click Disconnect in the dialog. Tarkle clears the Website ID, and the chat bubble stops loading on your public pages. To change the Website ID instead, paste the new one into the field and click Save.

What happens next

After you save, the chat bubble loads on the public pages of that workspace and the Crisp card shows Connected. To use Intercom or HubSpot Chat in the same workspace, disconnect Crisp first.
